For the fourth year, Paul Reed Smith Guitars will partner with the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series to provide race-winning teams a custom PRS GRAND-AM SE guitar.
PRS debuted the brand-new 2013 trophy guitar at the Rolex 24 At Daytona- replicas of which can be purchased at Guitar Center locations.
Also returning is one of PRS's favorite elements, the "Race to the Stage" promotion, which gives one high school guitarist and one high school drummer the chance to perform at a GRAND-AM event. In Tune Monthly magazine, Guitar Center and Drum Workshop are joining forces with PRS on the "Race to the Stage." Auditions will be held at select Guitar Centers which will be published in In Tune Monthly, the publication for music students and teachers in grades 7-12.
Guitar audition winners will take home a PRS SE guitar and SE amplifier and drum-playing winners will receive a drum kit compliments of DW. Both winning teens will also get the opportunity to perform with The Rocky Mountain Stoneflies, a PRS Guitars band.
Additionally Fan Day events are planned throughout the season starting June 8 at Guitar Center Rochester (N.Y.) in advance of a race-day concert June 28 during the Sahlen's Six Hours at The Glen weekend at Watkins Glen International. Additional Guitar Center Fan Days and Race Day concerts with Race to the Stage winners will be added as the GRAND-AM season progresses.
